Wonderful private mansion, filled with beautiful paintings and furniture. An extremely rich man's house; a man who lived for his collection, and with a long-lived widow who carried on his collection work. A fine special exbition of naturalist-later-impressionist Eugene Boudin added to a splendid day.

we went over to bld haussmann to try to see this museum. we stood in a small queue outside. It began to rain , infact it was like a monsoon. After 15 minutes of leaving us standing in the rain we were told by the doorman they were not letting any more people in. Thought it was a bit inconsiderate.

I went to an exceptional exhibit there with Memling paintings. I am sure they have more exhibits of this level (international level exhibit)

There is currently an exhibition of Boudin paintings which was the reason for our visit. Try to get there before it ends!

It is hard to know where to look, the paintings, the ceilings, the wall coverings, the furniture. Beautifully painted ceilings, Rembrandts hanging on the wall in a small room, a great small treat.

This exhibition intrigued me as I did not know about the artist. who influenced the impressionists. What impressed me the most was were the beach scenes where everyone dressed up and socialized.Few people seemed to be in the water, but that may have been due to the social customs of the day.
