A running and biking paved path, and many soccer fields for playing. Not perfect place for a picnic, but we had one in one of the soccer fields. Kids enjoyed it for a chance to run around outside of the city.

Unexpected discovery. The lake area is very pretty, albeit quite busy. The woodland has lots of nice tracks and paths.

When I'm visiting Paris, I do a Saturday morning bike ride with friends in the Bois de Vincennes on its many paths and unpaved trails. Though manmade, it is more of a country experience than, for instance, Central Park in NY, because of the many trails and streams. I'd love it more if it had toilettes. Sometimes we enter the... A great place to relax or exercise on a Sunday morning, yet the zoo is a waste of time. Good biking infrastructure.

While we stayed in Paris for two weeks we bought a metro pass. Invaluable. We used it several times every day. It took us near to everywhere and every attraction we knew or could think of. This was one and a charming place to spend an afternoon. We easily found our way by the metro from Montparnasse and then walked... More

It's calm and close to Paris city center. You can visit the interior of a castle for free (in the cour)

If you have a Paris Visite train pass (highly recommended), this is an easy way to get of of Paris for a few hours. Get off at last RER stop and voila, you are at the Chateau de Vinicennes. Most of this is free unless you want to visit inside the cathedrale or the inner chateau. Nice park in the... More

Huge park where you can have a pic nic, ride bicycles, jog, hire a small boat. Poney rides are also available. Highly recommended for everyone on a sunny day: families, couples, sporty type people...

For New Yorkers used to run in Central park this is a refreshing experience. It's more like a wood, but not too difficult to reach nor isolated. On a nice day, quitting the hotel gym and reaching the bois de vincennes is absolutely recommended. You can easily run 10 or 15 k on different tracks. I had a beautiful run... More
