If you are around Paris, you should not miss The Château de Versailles. It is a very insightful peek into the life of French luxury and taste. The Palace's art and beauty is absolutely mesmerizing and can be believed only when seen. I would recommend it strongly. Beware of waiting times and excess crowd.

Too not too small palaces on the grounds that were lovely and much less sensory overload than the main palace. It's easy to imagine Louie XIV strolling around gardens, and Marie Antoinette being opulent here.

Be sure to visit the Petite and Grand Trianon, they are very interesting. But the best thing to see are the gardens and the Queen's Hamlet. The hamlet is so quaint with the cutest buildings. I went back to see it a second time. Just stroll and take it all in. The Lilacs were in full bloom and the scent... More

Fantastic place, we liked every thing we saw, dont try to walk every where unless you are very fit, gardens cover 900 acres and the walk from the Chateau to the Grand Trianon is approx 2 kms, the opulence about this place has to be seen to be believed

Gorgeous State Rooms in the Palace, beautiful gardens and groves to explore, Grand Canal with nearby cafes, Mini-Trains to take you around or lots of walking paths, flowers, fountains - well worth the trip! It took about 35 minutes to get there from Paris - from our Hotel, we took the Metro (bought tickets at Metro for the RER-C train... More

I have been to the palace 4 times now, and each time it is always memorable. The place is amazing, be sure to visit the gardens and rent a golf cart--its $30 an hour, comes with a GPS activiated tour guide and will let you see alot more of the gardens then on your feet. You could do the palace,... More

I have been to Versailles 3 times before, and it seems busier each time. However, the waits at these smaller Palais were much less though the crowds at the main gates. Although we had purchased the tickets on line, the ticket lines were single digits where as that at the Versailles gate stretched well out into the courtyard. We spent... More

This opens several hours after the rest of Versailles. It is a little bit of a hike to get there if you don't take the train. I wouldn't miss this part though.

When we arrived at Versaille, there was a very big cue, so we went to the gardens and the Trianons and Hamlet which was a great start of the visit.

I went with my nine year old daughter. She said "beautiful sights. Even though you are not allowed on the grass, it was fun to walk in the gardens." It was a long walk for her but we took it slowly and were so happy we made the trip! We spent over an hour walking in the gardens, seeing the... More
