This is a tiny Church and we originally went there because I had read of the amazing views down over Honfleur. We did have trouble finding it but we are not great with directions and on our second attempt we located it! An added bonus was that we were there on the hour and were able to sit and watch...

I have been to many churches, cathederals, abbyes throughout France, and this is one of my favorites. It is intimate, well used and well loved. The views from the hill overlooking the ocean and the town of Honfleur are beautiful. If you are lucky and time your trip right, you can watch the bells play a song on the outside...

The Chapel is only a few minutes out of Honfleur. Small a reflecting a strong seafaring tradition with model ships hanging from the ceiling and walls adorned with message plaques (presumably form pilgrims or families of sailors). The chapel is still used for mass (6:30 Saturday evenings) and when we were there the bells outside the chapel played Ave Maria.
It's not large, but it packs a whallop. I am giving it an extra star because of the view you see of the harbor as you ascend to the summit.
Hard to find, but an interesting old church. If you go up to the Cote de Grace overlook about the city, be sure to check it out.
The chapel on the hill above Honfleur has been the focus of prayers for sailors, living and lost, since the dawn of time. Situated on a peaceful wooded hill the chapel is a fascinating part of Honfleur history.
I popped back into the chapel on my own, to pick up a new postcard. It felt as though I had strayed...

Lovely little pilgrims' and seafarers' chapel high above Honfleur - painted by Monet and several of the family.... A working chapel with worshippers slipping in and out for peace and prayer. Calm and amidst the trees. Bells chime every quarter of an hour - see them next to the church.
Beautiful old church, very peaceful. Tough walk up from town but only about1km so you can manage it. Fantastic views at the top + I even managed to tune into the news from England using my mobile phone radio!
We went driving up between Honfleur and la Côte de Grace to search for this church. It was a little difficult to find initially by car but worth the trouble. The modest church offers a great view into the sea-faring history of Honfleur. The stained glass and model boats pay tribute to the fisherman and lifestyle. The lookout offers a...
