I just took a couple pictures on my way by and went in for a minute. I didn't find a whole lot to do inside.
Pay the Euro or Euro Fifty donation to go up the bell tower. The walk up is a neverending, closed off spiral staircase but that is part of the charm! The view from the tower is spectacular and gives you 360 views of Old Town Heidelberg. One of my favorite parts of my day in the town.
What a wonderful architectural jewel and the historic impact is truly worth a visit. For just 2 Euro you can climb the 200 steps to the Church Tower and the view is truly magnificent. It is so fascinating to be in a a church that switched hands between Catholics and Lutherans back and forth...
The Heiliggeistkirche lies right on the River Neckar and also at the edge of the Old City. Do visit it as it is not only a beautiful church but it also has plenty of historical information. So do take your time for it. In the summer time it is the perfect place of course to get out of the heat....

Nice old church, situated right in the middle of Markplatz. The entrance is free :). Around the building there is a minibazar where you can buy souveniers. Interestingly, the price are lower as you leave the pathway towards the Old Bridge and head towards Hotel zum Ritter.

We were fortunate to attend the Bach Christmas Oratorio on Sunday 12/23 at this historical church. Even without speaking the german language I was moved to tears by the beauty of the music and the talent of the musicians. It was a highlight of our Christmas experience in this lovely town. An experience that will urge us to seek out...

Take the time to climb the church tower -- it is well worth the view. The church itself is lovely and in the center of the old square. There are kitsche shops around the base of the church but some other good ones...
We were fortunate to be in Heidelberg on the Saturday before Christmas and I was able to take part in the Bach Christmas Oratorio singalong. It was the highlight of my trip to Germany. If you can arrange to be a part of this, don't hesitate, even if (like me) you don't have German. What an experience!
