This museum was so much more than I expected. My friends and I spend about 3 hours in there and we did NOT see everything. Please budget several hours if you are really interested in art. You won't be sorry

We went here for a special exhibit about Albrecht Duerer, but there is always plenty to see and do. The tour guides are excellent and are available, for a fee, in many languages. This museum is totally worth a stop if you love renaissance art and culture, as well as per-historic and medieval artifacts! While all the main exhibitions were in both German and English and beautifully displayed with historical significance. The side wing with music, fashion and household artifacts were some of my favorites, but were only in German and not presented... More

there are english language museumtours as well and the advantage is these tours are with less people. so if you speak german but would prefer more information with less people (and for 2 hours) I strongly recommend a tour guided by an american lady
