This was our last stop in Germany as our daughter had read about Rothenburg being a Christmas Village. There is no parking inside the middle section of town. The few vehicles that come through might drop off baggage and then head to your hotel's parking area or return outside the city. We woke early to explore the town and not... More

When you are in Rothenburg, Germany, the Nightwatchman tour is a must! After this informative and fun tour, you can also see the watchman go for a glass of wine at " Zur Hoelle" (to Hell). After a day of sightseeing and shopping, this is a great way to end the day.

The whole town is just great really nice and full of alleys and cute buildings. You can shop for every souvenir you can think of. We were there on late april so it was quite peaceful. Most tourist make it a day trip from elsewhere so at night it was silent and almost just for us which we loved.

I loved this place so much, I visited twice including an overnight stay. If you go, don't miss the Night Watchman tour!

I would have liked to have spent more time in this place. It's big and there is so much to see. I loved all the little shops and colorful streets.

If you visit Germany as a tourist this place should be on the first page of your agenda. Read about the town before you go there. The history is preserved there. As if time is standing still. Fortunately the clocks are working otherwise you feel like you are in the 17th century. Amazing town.

We enjoyed walking along the top of the wall. Great views inside and out. Tall people do have to be careful to duck down occasionally. Also enjoyed the Night Watchman's walking tour. Most stores were closed Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

These places are becoming few and far between, walking around you can't help but to think about all the history that happened within those walls. There is plenty of little shops to stop in and small cafe/bakeries to get some great food.I will definitely try to make it back.

It is a real jewellery! Great medieval buldings, everything clead, shining, as in a fairy tale. Unfortunately on 1st of may all the stores were closed but we enjoyed an apfel strudel with ice cream near the city hall admiring the buildings and feeling the great atmosphere. Highly recommended, if you are in bavaria don't miss it, it is the... More

The old centre of this medieval city is compact and easy to walk around. You can get a self-guided walk from the Tourist Information centre which is in the central square. Otherwise guided walks are available and the evening nightwatchman's walk is definitely worth considering - he is very funny and there is a tour in english each evening. A... More
