This visit is essential in any trip to Berlin since it gives a clear impression of what those days must have been like. You can have a clear picture of what was meant with the barrier built to imprison East Berlin. All its elements (inner and outer walls, signal fence, guard road) are well shown.

I was here in the 80's and remember seeing the wall. We went in the east. This was scary. See the wall like this was very moving.

After hours of sightseeing and witnessing the numerous large renovated or new buildings of Berlin, one cannot help but be moved by the sight of this stretch of the Berlin wall, preserved as a memorial. About a couple of hundred feet long, the wall stands just as it was when it was stopped from being demolished with the rest of... More

It was great to see with my family, recent history. The museum alongside the wall was excellent as well. It's amazing the lengths a government will go to try to control it's populace. And history showed us that trying to "fence them in" doesn't work.

This is by far the best exhibition of how the barrier between East & West Berlin was constructed and looked. There is a visitor centre which is CLOSED on Mondays, the day we went, so can't comment on that. There is a good viewing gallery overlooking about 30 meters of how the division looked which can't be accessed internally by... More

This was the best attraction we saw while in Berlin. Simple, very tastefully done in as minimal a way as possible, it gives you a clear picture of the barrier that was erected to imprison East Berlin. All the elements of the barrier -- the inner and outer walls, the signal fence, the guard road -- are shown or indicated,... More

It's hard to know how you can represent the horror of the Berlin Wall to an audience to-day, and this Memorial makes an effort to do so over a fairly extensive site with the help of wall displays and audio material. It's quite well done but if you're coming from a "zero knowledge" base you need to give the place... More

Just could beleive how this transformed two sides of a city and how United people were to build such a United nation, so organized, the most organised people of Europe in my opinion. The feeling of living a little of this history is difficult to express with words, a visit is a must..

Spent a nice morning at this memorial. We hired two bicycles and went around in this place - I believe that was the best way to see Berlin. This wall memorial reminds you of the bad times in history.. the pictures on it speak volumes about the impact the wall had on the lives of Germans for almost 3 decades.... More

Essential in any trip to Berlin, gives a clear impression on what those days must have been like. And during this visit we realized the wall became a Wall only in 1961, not before.
