It's an amazing square, one where you can marvel the grandeur and might of this ancient city and then sit down for a drink to admire it without being fleeced! Bremen itself is a great destination for a weekend break . It's the perfect size so you can explore the beautiful squares, magical alleyways, vibrant river area, colourful markets and... More

Small but impressive. The age and style is deffiniately worth marvaling over. The inside will deffiniately leave you with an impression of a rich statelyhood of an important maritime city. the inside is as impressive as the outside. tip: take a tour of the inside if you can. You will see an impressive hall with model ships hanging from the... More

Bremen is a very beautiful town in the North of Germany. The North sea and Hamburg is about 100 km far North. I like the UNESCO cultural heritage - the Bremen town hall surrounded by the market place, the Bremer Town musicians and the famous Boettcherstreet with all its nice small shops. The Town Hall is one of the most... More

Thoroughly deserving of its UNESCO World Heritage listing, the Bremen Town Hall is beautiful. Really ornate exterior. Aparently in the 1400's when the good merchants of Bremen decided they needed a town hall, considerable 'discussion' followed as to the required size of the building. Legend has it that all the citizens of Bremen who were eligible to vote were assembled,... More

Bremen Town Hall is the main tourist attraction in Bremen and rightly so. After having seen it from the outside several times during our weekend break in Bremen, we decided to go for a guide tour Sunday before we left and that turned out to be a very good idea. The interior and history of Rathaus is very interesting to... More

The Rathaus is an amazing piece of architecture with an inspiring outer appearance. While visiting, be sure to visit the Rathaus restaurant as well. This restaruant offers a wide assortment of dishes, including several traditional meals. If you are not hungry, stop in for a beverage. It is worth a gander at the architecture and decor.

This is at the top of the Hanseatic league, for style, architecture and brilliance. Shows just how affluent the area mus have been. For anyone with the slightest interest in history or old architecture, this building s so impressive it must be worth a visit or, at the least a detour if you are in the area. Regret that we... More
