I realised after the first 400 steps up the tower in what poor condition I was. It was worth the effort to climb the entire 533 steps to the top. Great view. Always vist the Dom on any day, but Sunday as the interior is closed to the public due to services. The climb to the top and the visit... More

The cathedral is located in the city near the river. It is very crowded but the church is magnificent and interesting to see.

Seems almost silly to write a review for this iconic church because if you're in Cologne, chances are that you're going to visit. It's a glory to behold from without and within. When I visited, certain areas of the church were rather crowded but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of it. Cologne was great in general and there are... More

Don't expect quiet and avoid the panhandlers in the square but take at least a few minutes to appreciate the scale and impression of this gorgeous building. It is beyond huge on a par with Notre Dame and had such lovely stained glass. The outside is intricate even if in need of a cleaning.

Well maintained, good history, well setup for viewing and reasonably priced for entry too. Definitely climb the tower but be aware the stairs are very steep and the stairwell itself is very tight, The view isn't anything spectacular but it is great seeing the different years of construction along the way and also look at pictures of the city before/after... That  church must see it, with the magnificent carved spiers and stained-glass windows are works of art! I'm sure that you will like that creature that made four hundred years to be completed

You must see the DOM while you are in Cologne. THe fact that it survived the war is amazing. It was one of the most impressive Cathedrals that I have ever seen. It is mind blowing that something like this could have been built so long ago.

Art historically famous cathedral is located in front of Cologne main train station. If you transfer at the train station to different train, you should stop by to take a look at the beautiful cathedral and good local beer at brauhaus!
