We lucked out and visited the museu on the night when museums across Europe do not charge admission. The early work of a young Picasso are amazing.

Lines can be long, so do yourself a favor and book online the day before. The collection is small and you need to be a " true" Picasso fan to fully appreciate this collection. It is not the big hits, but his Las Meninas study is fantastic. And the earlier pieces help to show the talent of later years.
Beautiful building which in itself is worth seeing. Good exhibit of his early work. Worth seeing for the works directly related to his time spent in Barcelona.
The lines were very long, and the people very pushy, seemed to have been waiting a considerable amount. Barcelona card got us in, bypassing the line, thankfully. It's a nice collection of lesser works and early experimentation of Picasso and highlights one of his longest friendships with Jaume Sabartes. Interesting to get that perspective on the artist, however the collection...

The collection is small, but not as small as the mind of the security guard as she heard our baby's red elephant squeek and promptly asked us to stop squeeking our elephant because it is a museum (there is a joke in there somewhere). We would have thought as our baby (9 months old) wanted to listen to the red...

The building itself was very beautiful, I didn't feel like the street the museum was on was very well marked, so keep a sharp eye out. It;s down just a small side street. The first Sunday of the month you get in free, and the line was a mile long. Forget it, pay the 10 euro and go for it....

Compared to the Louvre it is very small, but it is so very well presented, and the story is expertly told of this iconic artist and his life. It even makes an art philistine emotional. Not to be missed.
For an artist who is most well known for his cubism and surrealist art, this museum was an eye-opener. See the artist's work during his formative and training years and follow his evolution to his more well known work. The museum is housed in a fantastic building (five adjoining medieval palaces) and movement from room to room is also a...

First off, the building is an absolutely wonderful renovation of 5 medieval palaces. A good cross section of his work, but by no means exhaustive. Features more of his earlier work.
IMPORTANT TIP: The ARTicket for 30 euros is NOT really a deal, especially if you are a student or a senior. In fact, many of the museums have free...

Book online to avoid the queue! It was juge and we were there right when it opened! We booked online did and were in like a flash. The way the museum is set up to work through picasso's work through time, with the history associated is fascinating! And the art... of course amazing!
