This museum is certainly worth as visit. It gives a nice overview of the history of the cinema from its earliest beginnings. We parents enjoyed it and also our 4 year old son and older daughter. Recommended.

This is a really well interpreted history of the moving picture, from the earliest shadow puppets to the latest movies. Just right if you have a few hours to spare on the way to the airport. It's hands on in places but not sure if little kids would enjoy it all.
This museum demonstrates the development of cinema, from ancient Chinese shadow theatre, through early photography, moving pictures, 20th century film and up to the present. Our children were able to play with and experiment with shadow theatre and magic lanterns - very 'hands on' and fun. Some of the early imagery and moving pictures are a bit creepy for young...

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the film museum. It had many artifacts and was well explained, we weren't expecting much but were certainly pleasantly surprised. We spent a couple of hours in there. Another good point is that we were given a discount for the other attractions in Girona from the museum.
I was surprised by the amount of things you can admire in this museum. I saw many interesting cameras, photo and video, from the beginning of cinematography. It's a must see in Girona.
We loved the early history of moving images, puppeteering and how these things captured the human imagination.
It was surprising however that the museum did not have any reference to latter day cimena..when so much has changed. There were some old videos of the first movies from the early 1900s..and then when you get to the Golden Years of hollywood,...

Didn't expect much having lived in LA for several months, but it was a great museum. Really shows the history of movies from the beginning to present time really worth the effort to go.
What can I say other then I love the place. There again I love film and film history. This place just ticks all the boxs. Its just.......wonderful. Dont pass the film shows by especially "Pieces of silver". Jus sat in that room with all the portraits of true actors is .....ahh just go.
this museum is in the "new" part of Girona so is easy to miss if you're spending all your time in historic section. But it is a very educational museum for the film/photography buff. Lots of old equipment on display. Basically the history of filmmaking from beginning to present. Plan at least one hour.
We wanted to visit this as the reviews were good but it was only okay. I think it would be boring for young children.
