Using the fountain as an (extremely grand) wishing well has become an essential attraction in Rome. The sculpture of Poseidon and the aquamarine water certainly make a wonderful fountain, but it's hardly a must-see attraction. The fountain is very busy, esp. in peak tourist season, so be prepared for some bustling. Mind your belongings. There are plenty of touristy shops... More

The Trevi Fountain should be on your very short list of things to see in Rome. Be prepared to be around a lot of people, but you can find your way down the steps and get decent photos without too many people in them. Also worth visiting while there are the small side streets lined with shops and restaurants. Flip... More

I am always amazed when I see the Trevi Fountain. This is one of the world's most beautiful fountains. The sculpture at the fountain is marvelous. The only bad thing is that it has hundreds of visitors all the time and it is difficult to take photos because of all the people.

Brilliant fountain but so many people there and a few locals begging. Just be careful of pick pockets!

The fountain itself was beautiful and definitely a must see. But very crowded so don't expect what you see in the old movies! Almost impossible to find space to take good friends and family photos.

I was a tourist there, but I must admit: Trevi Fountain's main problem is the tourists. There are so many it's hard to take a good look at the Fountain, but you should go there when in Rome. There probably isn't a fountain in the whole world that can be quite as grand as the Trevi Fountain.
