This fountain is quite impressive. It is even better than described in Dan Brown's book! The square is a hub of activity....great place for people watching or picking up some unique souvenirs. If you're doing a comprehensive tour of Rome, don't miss this fountain!

When you reach Piazza Navona, you see the Fountain of the Four Rivers right away. The sculptures are very impressive and the fountain is unforgettable. A very nice place to take photos. Be sure to see the beautiful church beside it. It is the Church of Sant' Agnes in Agone.

It was nice to spend some time in this piazza. The fountain is very cool. Learn about the building to the west.

A classic fountain, but inspiring when you remember the tools available at the time it was constructed. Magnificent in scope and imagination. We had a private guide who explained all of the symbolism and representations. A must-see on any tour of Rome.

The history created by the icons embellished on the Four Rivers fountain. I had the pleasure of having a tour with a graduate of history and a seventh-generation Roma resident. Amazing.

The Piazza Navona is a social center with artists, musicians, locals, and tourists bustling about. The cafes and churches lining the track-shaped plaza (because in Ancient Roman times it was a stadium for athletic contests) are full of people and the atmosphere is magical. At its center is one of the most beautiful fountains imaginable and one of the most... More

A huge, imposing fountain in Piazza Navona. The base of the fountain is a basin from the centre of which travertine rocks rise to support four river gods and above them, an ancient Egyptian obelisk surmounted with the Pamphili family emblem of a dove with an olive twig. Collectively, they represent four major rivers of the four continents through which papal... More

Really nice fountain and great square to visit! Just go on a sunny day! It's not far from the Pantheon.
