If you have a chance to visit then do, its smaller than some but no less ornate and beautifully decorated and of course its home to the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa. Watch out for rather enterprising beggars who dress slightly better than other beggars and hold the door open shaking a new looking wicker basket at you and demand payment... More

We went there mostly for the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa, but found the rest of the church very beautiful with its sculpted columns and painted ceiling. It closes at lunch time so plan accordingly. There was someone by the door begging for coins in name of the church but there was no sign saying that we had to pay and... More

Stunning in person, the Ecstasy makes an impression. This church is beautiful. See it if you get a chance.

The statue of the Ecstasy of St Therese by Bernini is absolutely beautiful. We would have missed this gem entirely were it not for our guide, Sergio Grom from localguiding.com who brought us to this little church.

Another of my favourite churches in Rome. Not that big but so much packed into it. Of course the famous thing is the spectacular Bernini sculpture ‘The ecstacy of Saint Theresa’, said to be his masterpiece.

We lived across the street and were looking at the church entrance every morning, day, and night while coming and going. And finally entered it and spent there half an hour or so. I had some minutes of pure relaxation and metaphysical grandeur. Great art, spritiuality, God's presence in every object and person...

We went to this Church as a last minute jaunt to see Bernini's Ecstasy of Saint Teresa and was blown away by the whole interior of the church. Every square inch covered in Baroque Art, Sculptures, etc. Just amazing and, dare I say, more impressive than the Sistine chapel. Don't let the understated exterior fool you and DEFINITELY make time... More

This small church is worth visiting just because of the monument with Teresa of Avila by Gian Lorenzo Bernini - you could admire it for hours...

The Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria is not exactly in the heart of all the other major sights in Rome--but a bit of a walk will afford you the opportunity to behold one of Bernini's finest works, free of charge. The church is easy to overlook from the outside; it is easy to bypass this church which houses such... More

The main reason for making the detour to see this smallish church is, of course, Bernini's masterpiece, the ecstasy of Saint Theresa. It sits rather high up and, as a result, is not that easy to see but what one can make out makes it well worth the visit. The way that Bernini was able to transform marble into flowing... More
