This museum in the university district focuses on artists associated with Bologna and the surrounding area, with particular emphasis on religious paintings and other art work suppressed during the Napoleonic era. As a result, the art represents roughly 14th-18th century religious works. We found the works by Guido Reni to be particularly impressive.

Great collection of Renaissance art and frescoes and well presented. The masterpieces include Raphael's The Ectasy of St. Cecilia.
