As we came in only late afternoon, we just spent about 2 hours in this absolutely fantastic park/garden ... but I guess you could spend almost a whole day here and enjoy the nature and learn about plants etc. The gardens are not only kept up very well, but also invite to relax, take some great pictures or just stroll...

These are garden of a Palazzo which are partly situated on a slope. The garden domain is quite large, providing a lot of variation, from water gardens, chinese garden, dry gardens, roses, and on the upper part there is also a climbing bridge worth going to. Beautifully taken care of, there are lots of walking paths, but be advised that...

Visit the tourism museum inside the gardens. Princess Sissi was one of the guests of this residence. There is a restaurant bar inside with tyrolean specialities. In summer during the evenings there are open air live concerts .
With every step you take there is something lovely to see. With amazing light quality and a fantastic mountain backdrop this place must be a photographer's dream. We went in October so what must it be like in Spring! Even though it is built on a steep slope the walk is not a bit arduous nor scary, being well fenced...

Lovely gardens with wonderful amenities - restaurant, cafe and picnic areas. Next time, we'll pack a lunch and tuck ourselves into a nice bench overlooking one of the many beautiful water features.

We were there nearly six hours and had to rush through the...

What a lovely place. If you're into gardens this is the place to go while you're in Merano. The castle is very interesting as Elizabeth of Austria stayed here several times.
We visited the gardens with our 1 and 3 year olds kids during the Easter weekend and it was great. We didn't know how it would go with the kids, but they have a kid's course and it was a lot of fun. We all loved it, had lunch there and it was awesome food!
