Even though March is not the optimal time of the year to visit a botanical garden, I easily spent several hours here. Where else do you find a palm tree planted in 1580?!? Well worth it's place on the UNESCO heritage listing. I will certainly return to this botanical garden in a couple of years, when the new (extended) part... More

We visited the Orto Botanico Garden in October of 2012, on a sunny afternoon. We stayed about 2 hours, though we easily could have spent 6 or 8 hours. There are many labeled plants, of all sorts of different genus. The cacti collection is astounding, the palms are memorable, the carnivorous plant collection is way cool, and it is just... More

A little piece of natural beauty within a University city, with beautiful exotic plants and flowers. It is truly a well deserved Heritage Site

This is a very lovely place to walk! The small size is rather good point. Espacially for those who live in a huge megaсity. During our walking there one nice black cat suddenly joined us and it accompanied us all our route as if it points us out the new footpaths. It was such a delightful excursion!

We were looking forward to visiting this botanic garden. It was a huge disappointment. It looked really uncared for. It may have been the season but even the glass houses had that drab tired look. Sorry I would not recommed this as a site to visit.

A well kept garden, nice for a stroll, the price of admission a litle steep for what you get. Best in the afternoon, the ticket taker may offer a discount

A visit to the botanical garden is a tranquil oasis where you can wander round at leisure and see some of the oldest surviving examples of trees and plants.

Brilliant. Free with the padova card. So good, we went twice. Relaxing, informative and inspiring. Similar to Kew Gardens in some ways, but more compact.

Rarely do you see a garden with such history and that is one of its main attractions. The layout reflects its origins and purpose and it's quite fascinating to go around and work it all out. Don't expect a typical villa type garden because you won't find it. Nor is it Kew Gardens but you will see plenty to interest... More

It's smallish, well designed, and not crowded in late September. It was surprising how much was blooming this late in the year.
