I would recommend going inside only if you have never been in a roman arean before. Spectacular from the outside, this really gives you a taste of the grandeur that was part of ancient rome. The inside is set up for concerts and operas, so if you enjoy seeing metal and plastic seating along with a large stage and lighting,... More

We visited the Arena over the Easter vacation. There was some building works going on there at the time, but it didn't detract from it's splendour. It felt like going back in time and the children loved the atmosphere of the place. It is one of those places were it is just possible to go and sit and absorb the... More

One of the best preserved arenas in the world. Very important monument of the Roman era. Nowadays it is remarkable opera stage where the most famous opera performers took part. It's located in the center of Verona at Piazza Bra. Via Mazzini will lead you from here to Piazza Erbe and Casa di Julieta. It's must see.

... if only to understand what an incredible feat of "engineering" from such a long time ago. We went during the day and mooched around the tiers and inside the building. In truth, not that much to see in the building. We went in May before the opera season but on the 3 nights we stayed in Verona we got... More

The opera in Verona is a not to be missed experience. Even if you are not an opera fan the sheer event is breathtaking. The opera house is the old roman ampthetheatre and unless you have a large amount of money to spend on expensive seating you find yourself on the same stone seats that the romans used so a... More

Arena di Verona is the landmark of Verona city area, very close distance to other attractions, I went during public holiday last year. There was a bit of queue for the entrance ticket, but it was worth it. They give student price as I am here in Italy for studying purpose. Once I entered inside, kept on walking upward, I... More

We saw "Carmen" performed at the Arena on our first night in Verona (first night in Italy actually!) It was absolutely amazing, I can't even describe it. Do as others suggest though and take plenty of snacks and drinks, and something to sit on! We brought some of the little $5 cushions out front but they were flat as paper... More

Verona is one of most beautiful cities in Italy, it means in all the world too. The city center is located between Piazza Bra and Piazza Erbe. Connects these two Piazzas Via Mazzini. This street is the main shopping street in Verona. And here is the plan: 1.You stay in hotel near Piazza Bra. 2.When you open your eyes in... More

The Arena di Verona is, of course, also great at broad daylight. You can take a tour and see where the wild beasts were kept before the were unleached to eat some criminals. Or Christians. The best time to visit, however, is a warm summer evening when famous opera's are played in this terriffic old amfitheatre. It doesn't matter what... More

It's just awesome knowing that this structure dates back to the Roman civilisation and it's even more awesome how they managed to build such a structure. It's very interesting and nearby there are some Roman soldiers with whom you can take a snapshot!
