Stunning and beautiful. There are tons of reviews on this, but here is my what I think is a big tip. I was set to go to the top, chair lift, jeep, etc. We arrived at the lower level crater and were greeted by 60mph winds! The chair lift shut down numerous times while we were there. We chose not... If you should do only 1 thing on Sicily, Mount Etna should be it! The drive up the mountain to Refugio Sapienze from Zafferena Etnea is already amazing. Buy your ticket for 57.50 euros in the official ticket booth to go up the mountain with a cable car and from there you will be transferred with a big jeep/bus to... More

We had a private tour arranged for us by our hotel (UNA Hotel Palace in Catania) and had a great morning exploring some of the craters, enjoying a fantastic view over Catania, a trip into one of the caves and stopped at a farm shop to sample local honey and oils. Our guide was excellent and told us a lot... More

Going up the crater by jeeps is quite an expensive experience. If you prefer to travel by yourself and have a car, take SS 92 from Nicolosi or Zafferana and park yourself, if coming from Nicolosi, after passed Rifugio Sapienza towards Zafferana, in front of a crossroad to the right, or, coming from Zafferana, before rifugio Sapienza, park at a... Forget the expense and go right to the top, unbelievable you are on top of an active volcano, steam rising from craters. A bit of a climb and no good if you are unsteady on your feet, although a couple of people on our trip made it with a bit of help, also VERY cold when we went so wrap... More

Before we took the drive to Mt. Etna, we talked to a number of people from various tour groups to get their impression of the trip to Mt. Etna and their visit. While many of these people were a little luck warm about their visit, we decided this was likely a once in a lifetime chance to see Mt. Etna.... More

Good trip with experienced guides, who spoke perfect English. this included a trip to a cave and gorge which although free would have required a car hire and map to find. Had too many clothes for the weather.

You cannot go to Sicily and not go on to the Mountain and the Park. A beautiful place. I go with an experienced guide called Grazia and she is both lovely to be with and a mine of information and knowledge. The whole park is a mixture of nature at its most violent and most beautiful. A day is not... More

I liked an opportunity to get to Crateri Silvestri (the volcano craters which are not active any more) and make some amazing photos there. If you do not climb Etna, you should not have bothered to come to Sicily at all, as it entirely depends for its prosperity on that volcano mountain. Etna is more interesting than Vesuvio as it... A 38 year ambition realised. Mount Etna is so beautiful, and so dangerous! What a great combination. Never underestimate the power of a volcano. Go and see it for yourself if you can.
