This is one of the finest collections of Renaissance art anywhere. Almost overwhelmed with the amount to behold. Works by all the local artists from 5 centuries ago. Some parts of the gallery were under renovation and works had been relocated from where our guidebook and audio tour had them positioned. A highlight of Florence.

book your tickets in advance or you may queue for hours. we booked our time and were happy we did so. museum much smaller than I expected, just one big floor and an half for temporary exhibitions. The collection is very good but I was expecting so much more, about 4, 5 rooms were closed for refurbishment which is a... More

The Uffizi Gallery is overwhelming with its vast collection of magnificent art. If stairs are an issue take the elevator. We are good for a flight of stairs but there were at least three flights of a huge number of steps. Half way up we wished we had taken the lift. The visit starts on the top floor and you... More

We had a Firenze card so only queued for about 5 minutes. Inside many paintings and sculptures were visible through the crowds. You can tell which are the "important" works as they are the ones behind the tour guides and their encircling throng. If you actually like these sorts of art works it would be better to study them in... More

This was the plsce we had greatest excitement about visiting on o6r first trip to Florencel sometimes, with such high excpectation you can be easily disappointed. Not today. With Firenze Pass we got in within 5 minutes. Did 2nd floor mostly in reverse order, which worked out well as we finished with our much loved Boticelli. One small complaint -... More

Obtaining tickets and gaining entrance was arduous procedure. The visit felt like being herded through galleries of paintings and sculptures

Most of the complaints from other reviewers are related to the queues and ticket selling system. We went there around 8:30 (gallery opens at 8:15 if I'm not mistaken) but the ticket sales only start at 9. We did not have to wait a lot of time neither had a horrible queue, although as the day progresses the queue issue... More

We visited in May, compared to the Vatican the gallery was quiet but we were on a tour which was exceptional value. The pictures magnificently displayed in all their glory. Just a wonderful experience for an art buff.
