I was worried that an hour train ride would be a waste just to see this sight. It was not a waste. The tower is really neat. It's a famed attraction for a reason. We didn't even go in, just checked out the outside and took pictures. And it was absolutely worth it. I would do it again. Truly unlike... More

The leaning tower is much more beautiful than I ever imagined, and bigger too. There are trips to the top that last about half an hour. After a short talk, bags have to be securely left at the bottom and the long walk up the spiral staicase begins. The lean makes it a very unusual experience. If visiting the tower,... More

I expected the Tower to be bigger but having trudged through an uninspiring shopping street from the Railway Station, the emergence of the Cathedral, Baptistry and Leaning Tower itself, set in an impressive grassed square, made the journey more than worthwhile. The Tower is a revelation and must be viewed from all angles to appreciate its design and wonder how... More

The tower itself is awesome to look at, and then you have to take all manner of silly pictures pretending to hold up the leaning tower. It's good fun. It's impressive how much the tower leans without falling. Finding parking near the tower is a pain but possible. €2 will get about an hour of parking on the street near... More

If in Pisa you must go see the tower. We chose not to climb it since the best building to see is actually the leaning tower, so we climbed the baptistry and saw the whole thing from there. If you want to climb the tower I suggest you buy the tickets online and avoid the lines. Walk around Pisa, it... More

Yes we have the picture to prove it .... Was great to see! Great architecture. Tickets are purchased at the Meuso not at the tower itself.

at first our family was a little hesitant to go to Pisa. we had always been told there was nothing more than a tower there. Although this is partially true, the architecture throughout the square was unforgettable. Spend an hour to walk around the tower and square. this ended up being one of my favorite places we stopped during our... More

It's just one of those places you have to visit. It's an iconic structure, that you never really know if it was planned to lean all those years ago, or it was just soft ground. Either way, thousands of people now visit it! Very easy to find from the main Pisa Centrale Rail station. (We were staying in Florence- approx... More

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. We drove up to Pisa and Florence for the day from Rome and took the mandatory "holding up the tower" picture.

I was passing through on my way to Lucca, and thought it would be a tragedy not to stop, as in the past I had only seen it from the airport. Many of my Italian colleagues had told me that Pisa wasn't very interesting and that I could avoid it! They were wrong. I did just pass through the city,... More
