My wife and are fans of Van Gogh and familiar with his works, but to see the originals is quite amazing also to see and have explained though the audio guide the different phases his art went through. Paid for the ticket via our hotel and had no queuing. Highly recommended for art lovers

We purchased our tickets online (specific day and timeslot selected) and just walked in and checked our bags. The museum is very well planned with the flow of visitors moving well to and from each piece of artwork. The collection is large with some fantastic pieces and in chronological order so one can see Van Gogh's style evolve throughout the... More

We waited in line for an hour in pouring rain in the 'fast queue' and gave up as we were soaked. There is no organization on the queues and no idea given how long it woul be to get in. We had prepaid tickets but the only way is to get timed tickets and it seems extremely unfair that you... More

This is a wonderful representation of Van Gogh's and his contemporaries' works. The galleries are quite nice, though probably a bit too modern for Vincent's tastes. The tourists are pushy and obnoxious, so it's not a peaceful or reflective experience. Be sure to get an "I am amsterdam City Card" for free admission -- but more importantly because it will... More

"Van Gogh at Work" is a production that shows the last 10 years of his life in a time line. They show each phase of his art and is very comprehensive. It is extremely organised and the Museum Shop has all kinds of souvenirs about his most famous paintings.

What a thoroughly enjoyable day .every inch of this museum has wonderful pieces of art. Van Gogh heaven!!! The queues weren't too long once you found which queue to go in with fast pass tickets The cloakroom is good and easy to leave your bags and coats leaving you free to wander. I thought this museum was very interesting and well thought out. I got an audio-guide and took my time listening to it and reading the information displayed with the art. It really takes you on the journey of how Van Gogh came in to his own style. There were lots of interesting tidbits of information interspersed with the beautiful art... More

Great selection of paintings, good quality audio tour. Didn't like 2 hours line to get in. Buy your museum ticket or city pass at the Central Station, you'll get in via separate line and it's much faster.

The Van Gogh Museum does contain his most famous work, The Starry Night, but that's ok. I went into this museum with absolutely no knowledge of art history or art appreciation and I enjoyed every minute of the 2 hour visit. There is a story that goes along with every painting and you start to get an idea of Van... More

Currently featured is a detailed exhibition about van Gogh's development as an artist and the influences on his art of other artists and places of his time. Very extensive descriptions of his techniques and how the colors of his paintings have changed over time.
