My lasting impression of Brussels is of congested traffic and grey skies so needless to say I was not very impressed with the city. That being said there are some neat old buildings and this is one of them. Very interesting gothic architecture. It's worth checking out if you're in Brussels.

This is a very impressive old building on the Market Square (Grand Place). It is well worth visiting if you are in Brussels.

The Town Hall or Stadhuis is a Gothic building from the 15th century. The very tall tower in the middle of the 2 wings is built in the so called Brabantine Gothic style. it's just a building, not very exciting nor unique. if you have spare time, you can visit, but do not give priority to visit.

Just get a pair of binoculars and feast your eyes on the wealth of carving, and the soaring Gothic pinnacles. This must have been an astonishing and opulent sight to mediaeval eyes only used to seeing low-rise buildings.

Town Hall in Brussels on the Grand-Place is one of the most beautiful buildings. Recommended that you always see.

The building is stunning, and I love all of the detail. but the town hall was closed to the public that day so it is probably best to check in advance to see when it is open. Unfortunately for us we were only in Brussels for a day so we missed out on that one!

Went to a wedding here too a few years ago. Great place for a ceremony! Do go to the Grand'Place & admire the Town hall while enjoying a Belgian meal in the square. One of the best in Europe.

All of the buildings in the Grand Place are awesome but the Hotel de Ville is the most striking and well worth a photograph. It is also possible to visit inside but worth noting that this so popular and hence you may have to wait in a queue.
