The Church of Notre-Dame du Sablon (Our Lady of the Sandhill) is considered the most beautiful Gothic church in Belgium. It was built in 1304. The facade is very good. The wooden pulpit has elaborate wood carving. The main altar is simple, yet elegant.

It holds a lot of art pieces made of marmol, stone, wood, etc. The cherubs are lovely! The windows with byzantine motives are similar to the ones in Paris.

Notre Dame du Sablon is a beautiful church with exquisite Gothic architecture located at one end of the Grand Sablon, a little square full of restaurants, antique shops, chocolate shops and bars. The church is quite large and there are very beautiful stained glass windows inside. It is worth visiting the church if you are in the area.

I was very happy to go into this beautiful church. Lots of beautiful stained glass windows, and the preachers chair was beautifully carved out in dark wood.

A must see when visiting Brussels. Great architecture. It's pretty cool to go there during the summer months - on 21st July in particular.

Notre Dame du Sablon is a Catholic church located in Upper Town in the heart of Brussels. It is a small Gothic Church built in the 15th century. I have seen several churches and cathedrals with the name Notre Dame so was surprised at how small this one was (I thought it would be much bigger). It was nice to... More

We made a trip out to see this church and it is a pretty church but it is not worth seeing unless you are close and enjoy that type of thing. Compared to the cathedral? there really is no comparison... I would suggest going there instead.
