I like to take a rest at this square while doing my shopping on the neighbouring rue Neuve. It's a nice monument to lost heroes, but there's not a lot to see. Unfortunately it was also surrounded by construction when we went, so perhaps it's easier to appreciate when you can enjoy the plaza more.
Now that restoration is practically finished this is a small bijou in the middle of the newer part of the city where few visitors venture. And a reminder of Belgian history and truculence against foreign domination
Our party of 5 found the walking from one sight to another quite easy, once we had taken the red top hop on hop off bus. What detracted from the majority of sightseeing was the number of beggars every present on almost every street.
