Full of history and character and felt very safe, very compact, could walk all round it easily in one day
What a marvellous place! Just wander around the little streets to find more and more hidden gems, we felt like we couldn't leave the place and took another round and another one....just take any of the lines with "centrum" at the railway station (buy your ticket before you get the bus, there is a ticket office right next to it,... What a beautiful and interesting place to visit. We booked for the christmas market and found a magical old town with lots of history and amazing architecture that made us want to learn more about the area. There is something for everyone here. We really enjoyed our stay.
What a magical place! We took the Shuttle and then it is only an hour's drive. What a difference those miles make! History, cobbled streets, stunning architecture, museums, ice-rink, carriage-rides, shops, restaurants - something for everyone! Although it caters for modern tastes it has not lost it's sense of identity - it really is unique. Small enough to walk around... More
I would recommend that everyone travel to Bruges. This place is an amazingly magical place, it will take you back in time into a charming old town like no other and it is very romantic with beautiful scenery.
beautiful place magical but expensive for dining out..as we travelled from brussels charleroi airport it put extra costs between bus to gare midi then train to brugge.however i feel brugge is a must see.
/What more can I say that hasn't been said before about the historic centre of Brugge. It is an amazing place and one which is a lovely escape for a few days, away from the hustle bustle of everyday life.
