The monastery was impressive and spectacular from the outside. The inside was best enjoyed in a sunny day when the light entered through the stained-glass windows. The unfinished chapels were special too. Definitely worth a visit! More

the road from the motorway to batalha is a pain but boy when you turn into the town what a marvellous sight. The Gothic monastery is spectacular both inside and out. Try to go when the sun is shining through the stained glass windows and lights up the huge columns inside with a myriad of colours. More
