A great Finnish experience, wonderful institution. The place is really clean, the woodburning sauna is wonderful, locker space provided. Bring a towel or you can rent if necessary. You can get drinks or bring your own and put them in the freezer to chill as you warm up, then sip away on the street outside and watch the city go... More

If you are looking for something that reminds the luxury Spa of Austria, Germany, SudTyrol etc. forget it about. Kotiharjun is an old, historic wood-burning authentic sauna in Helsinky, with separate saunas for men and women. It consists in locker room, sauna and shower, noting else. The sauna room presents cement steps and hosts the wood boiler and the wood... More

Old, rustic and cozy traditional urban sauna. One of lasts in Helsinki. Spaces and facilitis are old but working. It is possible to cool after sauna in yard and enjoy your own beverages . It is possible to buy bath whisk in reception.

I say whether or not you're male or female, this is a must see, but don't expect this to be a social experience if you are female. When walking up, do not be surprised if you see about a dozen men, only in towels, drinking outside the front door. I urge you to go past and not let that stop... More

This is a must see place for those who love history, authenticity and real experience. Not made for, but welcomes all tourists. Wood heated sauna that beats every hotel sauna in Helsinki!

There's many ways to experience a real Finnish sauna. One tradtional city-way is to go to Kotiharjun sauna. Some foreigners have made an u-turn at the door, but those who do enter, have liked. I love it, allthough I am not foreigner. The old style changing room looks and feels old, but has the best athmosphere, the really traditional one,... More

You can go there with your friend or alone. Amazing feeling. Women and men have separate saunas.

Old Finnish public sauna, heated whit woods. Good place to rest for a moment and gather your strength before dinner or a bar rounds. Easy to reach by tram, metro or bus. If like have beer in sauna BYOB like locals do. There are soft drinks, some snaks and grilled sausages available. Separate saunas for men and women.

As a Finn living abroad I rarely get to enjoy a proper wood heated sauna, so this is a real treat when I visit. As everyone else has said in their reviews, this is not fancy, it isn't meant to be. It is, however, clean, easily accessible (you can walk there in about 25 minutes from the main railway station... More
