If you are bored of seeing the architecture, drinking and exploring and want to try something different this is a unique experience. Went with the girlfriend but open only to one sex on alternating days.. As I was hung over one day I went here to relax. Felt quite liberating and relaxing, Worth about an hour unless you really enjoy... More

Maybe the lights could be a bit dimmed, very uncomfortable, but you get an image how swimminghalles may worked in the early 19th century. Where there on Monday, second stage closed,

This is a great way to unwind. Go upstairs, relax a bit, have drinks and a snack then hit the sauna and go for a nice dip in the pool. Coming from America, it's a great relief to leave behind your clothing and just swim and relax. The building is a walk back in time and a delight to see.

This anno 1920 swimming hall is a must see. But visitors have to swim naked to be there. Building is very beautiful (inside!), outside you'll walk by without noticing. Prepare yourself about opening hours! Not every day and special hours for men and women (separated). Of course sauna too. Towels provided.

great place to have an authentic sauna and a dip in the pool - beware, most men are naked around you but it's a very relaxing and beautiful place

It was freezing cold and I was looking for a real, Finnish sauna relatively close to Kampi / Train Station. I googled this one and went immediately. The interior was just mind-blowing, I felt like I was in a movie from the 70s. I took the 12E ticket with access to all services for 2h. The staff speak English but... More

Oldest swimming pool in Helsinki. Separate days for women & men and these days you can wear a swimsuit if you so like. Most people still swim naked. Been coming here for ages. Great atmosphere and beautiful place. Often crowded. Would recommend trying the "upstairs experience" where you get to sauna in a wood heated sauna (the best kind) and... More

When travelling to different cities it is interesting to visit local baths and take part in the local tradition. In Istanbul you can try hamam bath, in Helsinki you can visit Yrjonkadun Swimming Hall. Lucky me, I was there on a Sunday and Sundays are for women only. This setup with different opening hours for men and women creates a... More

This is an absolute gem of Finnish architecture and culture, and should not be missed. Every visitor to this part of the world should try a sauna anyway, it is such a feature of local life. The swimming is clothes optional (different days for men and women) but no-one minds if you keep your swimsuit on. During my visit most... More
