A really beautiful building, the façade is stunning. There's a great little cafe here too. Apparently the building houses some of the most up-to-date facilities and resources for students anywhere
When I was student, I learned to know the university inside and outside. It is marvelous place to have a education. Usually a tourist looks at the building outside. The masterpiece of new classical architecture by Engels. So pure classical example. I love those Ionian pylons and the fine pediment.
Beautiful uni campus in the Helsinki center. Visit the old side of the building and the cosy cheap cafe!
It is a part of "Senaatintori" facing a similar buidning opposite to the Finnish goverment house, both desigdned by a German architect Ludvig Engel around 1850.
The historic buildings must make studying at Helsinki university something very special.
