We run and operate four traditional Icelandic oak boats, as well as two schooners, all of them environmentally friendly. Our customers can choose between our Original 3-hour- whale watching tour, which runs several times a day from April till October, or our schooner tours, which focus on whales plus puffins plus the sailing experience. Skjálfandi Bay, adjacent to our hometown Húsavík, is known for its excellent whale sightings. We regularly see humpback whales and minke whales and the chances to see the white-beaked dolphin and the harbour porpoise are fairly high in the bay as well. Our success rate in the year 2011 was 98,3 %, but of course we are operating in wild nature and can only hope that the whales and dolphins continue to visit the bay. Protecting our environment and acting ecologically responsible is therefore a key element of our operations. Good to know: We provide warm overalls for all customers, free parking and wheelchair access to our boats. Our highly motivated staff is well trained and our customers’ well being and safety is our highest priority when taking you out to encounter the marine wildlife first hand. « less

What a fantastic experience, we were out on the 1st of April and saw blue whales. A one of a kind life time experience. Crew was fabulous and the hot chocolate and cinammon buns rounded off the whole experience. Would recommend to anyone.

First off, I'd like to comment on the traveler who rated this outfit as "poor", because they didn't see many whales and the waters were choppy where a couple of people had gotten sea sick. I'm sorry, I don't remember anyone aboard (or even the agents selling the tickets at the hotel prior) stating that the sightings would be "guaranteed"... More

Really worth going. We attended the 3 hours whale safari. I had booked it in advance for the morning, but fortunatelly we called the agency in the same morning to make sure the weather would allow the safari. There had been strong wind during the night so the sea was just calming down and they wouldn´t do the morning safari,... More

Iceland is prety unforgettable so it takes alot to make a particular trip stand out. We were recommended by Iceland Unlimited to go to Husavik to whale watch rather than Rekjavik as it would be less busy and there were more whales. To be honest I've been on lots of wildlife tours and not infrequently one sees one blob in... More

they have nice oak boats and they will sail all over the sound looking for whales, sometimes they are too enthusiastic in trying to please and we ended up almost on the other shore!

If you find yourself in north Iceland, you should definitely check out the North Sailing whale watching tour in Husavik. Being up-close to these incredible creatures was truly amazing and the service was excellent. The whale watching was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland!

Excellent crew and ships. Cost was about $50.00 CAD for 3hrs to see several different species of whale. It was not crowded onboard but this was near the end of the season (Aug 19th) so in peak season I imagine there would be more passengers.

Whate-watching is a matter of taste; I can't say I found it very interesting myself. We saw nothing but a few backs and raised tails, which wasn't much in a 3 hour trip. What I strongly advise is to take note of what the operators say about the weather at sea. We took our trip in August. We were warned... More
