Beautiful views of Reykjavik can be seen in a 360 degree view from the top of the church. It's a wonderful photo opportunity that should not be missed - you'll get a nice tour of the local neighborhood walking over to the church as well.

A fantastic view over Reykjavik, not cheap: 700 kronen pp but it is cheaper than a helicopter ride over the city.

Wherever you are in Reykjavik you're sure to see this Church towering above the cityscape. The exterior feels severe but the interior is serene with an emphasis on simplicity, sometimes less is more. A very modern and beautiful church. You must go to the top to enjoy the beautiful town views. The church has a big church pipe organ, and the music creates the perfect atmosphere to pray.

We were staying opposite the Hallgrimur and I never got tired of looking at it. Early evening is the best time to take photo's as they Illuminate the spire and it looks like delicate lace. The organ is played at midday and you can purchase home made soup after not too sure about the summer months.
