Loved the whole visit to the Reykjavik City Museum especially the Viking era. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
This museum is worth a visit. Just a small place but interesting if you like to learn about the place that you are visiting.
One of the best museums we have ever been to. Fascinating and really well arranged. We spent more time here than in the art galleries and enjoyed all the fascinating displays which were informative and stimulating.
One rainy day we decided to visit some museums and Reykjavik City Museum was out first port of call because of its great reviews.
Just a short walk from the main highstreet, it was easy to find and I'm so glad we went!
We spent a good few hours learning about Iceland's interesting history, and it felt good to know...

Gives you a bit of an understanding as to how and why Reykjavic has evolved the way it has. The exibits are well layed out and give you sufficient details without over whelming you with data.
Well, Reykjavick and Iceland is certainly off the beaten path and a visit to the City museum was a great learning experience.
We very much enjoyed visiting the museum. The exhibits were rich, varied and interesting. We recommend it.
There is more than you expect to see at this museum. The main floor exhibit of ancient Viking manuscripts is superb. Although we were just two people, the museum offered a guide to take us around this exhibit. She was very informative and spoke excellent English. The upper floors have art from Icelandic artists, all of whom were new names...

Hidden away by the lake, decent cafe and a large scale model of the country (island). Didn't spend much time here other than this as cruise ships don't wait.
