Plenty of steps to reach the summit, but well worth it as the views of the surrounding area and the main square are great.

As a Canadian I have discovered beauty and raw nature of the Karwendel. Flowing streams of crystal blue water, rugged peaks and a good variety of hiking and biking trails. Last week we hiked to Lamsenjochhutte on a perfect blue sky day.

The Karwendel is the 2nd highest mountain in Germany, bordering Austria. Starting at the base lodge in Mittenwald a cable car takes you to the (almost) top of the Karwendel, approximately 20-30 minute ride.
