This was an amazing place to visit. Well worth visiting. The only thing we found was the whole area around the cathedral was very very busy and that wasnt peak season so I would try to go early to avoid the crowds.

weird lighting (cellophane?!) and effects that made you feel like you were underwater in a drowning church. Very crowded as well. Miss it - it's an awful experience.
The home of the Archbishop of Vienna. Church stands on the ruins of two former churches. The multi-colored title roof is the most recognizable symbols.
After traveling Europe for a while one can be excused for bypassing "just another great church" but don't bypass this one!
Just lovely. Gothic cathedral and very busy. Boasts dazzling tiled roof externally and stained class windows inside. The stone pulpit is stunning Don't be put off by crowds.
Great architecture, no doubt about that. However, the hordes of visitors make it rather difficult to see anything (took us about 5 min to get to the exist - a distance of about 10m). I dislike the artificial lighting intensely. Will I go back there one day? Probably not, too busy and too touristy - if you are looking for some...

I'm not a great cathederal fan, they never seem like places of worship and this one lacked any heavenly atmosphere. It was very busy and you had to pay for special areas, however the architecture is stunning.
Nothing to dislike- church was beautiful both inside and out, stained glass effect was lovely, and the work inside the church ornate and beautiful. Gothic cathedral definitely a 'must see'
St. Stephen's is so unique in mostly baroque Vienna so do take a look at this beautiful Gothic cathedral in the heart of Vienna. The roof is also quite special with it's Austrian and Hungarian crests.
The architecture is brilliant, and a trip to the catacombs below is worth it. Should take the guided tour - check the timings locally there - I think the english one started at 10 am
