Beautiful historical place in central Vienna. On top of things to do in this city. I took a tour inside the palace, walk along its royal gardens and enjoyed the gloriette place (missed the chance to drink a tea there, check timeschedule!)

On a short three day break to Vienna we decided to spend a day in the Schonbrunn Palace which was wonderful. The palace is beautiful inside and out and is a must-see for any trip to Vienna. The audio tour is excellent and provides interesting information without being overly detailed. Allow at least two hours at the palace, more if you want to explore the gardens.

The palace itself was an interesting history lesson and peek into the lives of the Austrian royal family. It was a "human" and personal tour.
The grounds were immense and wish we had additional time to walk the beautiful gardens.
This tour was much better than we expected.

the palace is wonderful, not as big as Versailles, but it is interesting to see where the kings/queens of the Austro-Hungarian empire spent their lives. the gardens as with any other palace, are spectacular

There best advice is to get there before the hoards of tourists arrive by the coach-load! It really is a beautiful place and for once it is somewhere where the publicity photos don't lie. Be prepared to spend at least half a day there to do it justice.
