Visited The Scarborough Fair Collection on recommendation of a friend. It was really different. Selection of old vehicles and funfair attractions. Carousels are lovely although they did not run very frequently, may be due to time of year. Childrens carousels really nice. Also has dodgems, fun mirrors and a number of different organs. Worth a visit although is quite expensive.

in a previous life i was an organ builder so this was right up my street the staff are very knowlegable and helpful i got there just before closing so had a rapid and organs played for me with the help of staff

There really is something for everyone at this fabulous museum of fairground rides, organs, steam engines and vintage cars. We have a lovely afternoon at Scarborough fair - interesting exhibitions, classic cars/lorries/stream engines both full scale and models, travellers caravan which was absolutely fantastic - I spent an age just looking at the beautifully restored interior, fairground rides which I remember going on - even mum went on a gallops, a big ballroom, teas and cakes etc. Continuous music... Enchanting and definately transports you to a bygone era. Escapism in a lovely setting and educational as well as fascinating to a younger generation too! Nice places to eat and stay nearby as well.
