I like to come here by boat with friends from Bocca di Magra or after parking the car in Portovenere and catching a local boat commuting between Portovenere and Palmaria. At Palmaria you can swim, walk in the macchia mediterranea or eat at the 2 r'ants feet on the water one of them.

From Locanda Lorena, where the food is as good as food can possibly get, the view at night of the lights of Portovenere: heaven! Il Pozzale, for us, is a daytime trip, swim, and delightful food set in an atmosphere which could be in the 50's. I would not want to miss either of these wonderful places!

A great little appartment, Villa San Giovanni, by the sea on the Island of Palmaia. Considering the time of year it was quite affordable (Aussie $ also good). The weather was amazing (hot) and the local restaurant was excellent. Fun taking the ferry or boat to and from the mainland. Busy Cinque Terre just a ferry ride away. Our kids...
