We spent an awful lot of time climbing stairs, so our last day, we took the bus up to Ravello, and after wandering for awhile and eating lunch, we chose to walk down the hill. We just followed the signs towards Amalfi, and turned towards our villa when we reached the road about halfway down. Easy, and beautiful walk.

From Ravello we took the walk to Castaglione, Atrani and into Amalfi. We took our time, probably 2 hours, but it was worth it. The walk takes you through where the locals live, down steps, up steps, along pathways and terraces dotted with olive and lemon groves. The descent into Castaglione was rather steep, but pretty, and once down it... More

Take the bus up to Ravello and walk down to Atrani. The views are wonderful. Reward yourself with a pizza and beer in Atrani at Ristorante Pizzeria Le Palme under the arch looking at the sea. Andrew

We caught the Sita bus from Amalfi to Ravello, visited Villa Rufolo and explored Ravello before making our way downhill back to Amalfi. Although the walk isn't well sign posted, we managed to find the steps (with a mosaic pointing towards Amalfi). At certain points along the way, we had to walk along the side of the windy road -... Myself and my partner did this walk in April 2013, which was perfect as it was warm but not too hot. We actually walked up from Amalfi to Atrani, and then to Ravello first, and then did a slightly different trail on the way back, which passed by an entrance to Villa Cimbrone. The views were stunning, and the whole... More

We took the stairs down from Ravello to Amalfi, taking about an hour to get there. We took the SITA bus back! As painful as it was, I am so happy we did it. Gorgeous views, and an amazing perspective.

We walked from Atrani to Ravello - some 1200 steps. Apart from a great workout, this walk offers some of the best scenic values in the world. How many places can you walk on old medievel paths through lemon and almond groves, that rewards you with lunch at your destination.

We took the Bus from Amalfi to Ravello and then tried this downhill walk, after a pleasant couple of hours in the town. The walk is very good but appallingly signposted. Initially we followed the signs for Amalfi which was all well and good. Unfortunately we struck a point on Via Valle del Dragone which offered the following choices: 1.... More

Prior to our trip to the Amalfi Coast in September of 2012, I had read in a magazine about Italy to which I subscribe, a letter to the editor about a good guide book for hikes around the Amalfi Coast. I bought that book, the title of which is "Walking on the Amalfi Coast (Cicerone Guides)". Without this book, my... More
