Visited this zoo as part of a half day tour while visiting Melbourne for vacation. It was rather small but it was nice. Not sure if we would have the same opinion had we visited it without our tour guide. We hand fed birds (be careful) and wallabies ($2/bag at the counter). More

Its not near Melbourne city, not sure if there are any public transport from Melbourne city to this place but if you rent a car for self drive this is a place you should not missed! We have a blast there where the kangaroo's and wallabies freely roam the sanctuary. Hand feed them is most memorable. We manage to pet... More

At first sight doesn't look very appealing but it is actually great you can hold a koala and the wallabies eat out of your hand, very cute. More

You have to get here by car as it is quite a long way from Melbourne city but it's definitely worth it. Much better experience than Healesville or Melbourne Zoo. We love getting really close to the many wallabies and kangaroos and hand-feeding them. A real Australian animal adventure. More

I found this sanctuary on tripadvisor, so thank you to the other reviewers! I am a Melbournite and had never heard of this place! What a find! I had friends here from overseas and they were absolutely over the moon to get so close to the koalas, wallabies and Rita the wombat! For $10 you can pat the beautiful koalas,... More

We took the night tour Tuesday 7th Feb and had a wonderful experience! Our tour guide Michael was absolutely fantastic and took the time to answer all our questions and ensure we enjoyed the tour by informing us about interesting facts about the animals and letting us feed them too! It was a fun and exciting thing to do and... More

Not nearly as good as the reviews we had read. Saw one koala, no kangaroos and a few illusive wallabies. Very sparse, not particularly beautiful and lacking in the wildlife department. We were in and out of there in 45 minutes. I wouldn't bring people back here again. More

We are sorry you did not enjoy your visit to Moonlit Sanctuary. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but I don't think it is fair to describe our landscape as "very sparse". As for wildlife I'm surprised you saw so little. In our visitor centre we have 5 different types of snake, 5 different types of lizard, three... More

One of the most intimate, friendly and enjoyable wildlife parks we have been to. We went on a Friday and it felt like we had the whole park to ourselves (no screaming kids) and you can feed the wallabys, see other native Australian animals up close and personal (can pat a koala for $10 extra). Highly recommend going! More

We went as part of a kids birthday party. Easy to drive past without even realising it was there. Initial impression is that it's really small, but there is actually a fair amount there. Great for the smaller kids.... they had an absolute ball - probably the best part for most of them was feeding the little wallabies. The people... More

We paid for the night tour out of interest. Fantastic it was the first time I'd seen a wombat actually up and about and the Tasmanian devil was very hyper. The barking owl was the highlight for me ( woof woof) More
