Our family of 4 (including 11 and 14 year old kids), thoroughly enjoyed our 90 minute ride last July. Our guide, Roger, was very personable and provided interesting commentary as we traveled over the hilly countryside, for example pointing out areas where remnants from the Great Potato Famine were still visible in the hillside as well as explaining the peat-processing... My kids (10 and 7) and I loved our trail ride, great views and well behaved horses made it a very relaxing few hours!

We were really looked after by Roger who managed effortlessly to accommodate relatively inexperienced riders and more confident ones. Only 4 on the 2 hour trek and we saw peat bogs, lochs, islands, mountain vistas, ruins and streams. Horses were good fun and well matched to riders.

6 inexperienced riders(including a 3 year old) were well looked after whilst gearing up for our first ever pony trek into the Connemara hills. Our guide 'Tom' took us up the hills to see a beautiful view of Lough Corrib & surrounding areas. He was very knowledgable & most importantly he was very patient!

My boyfriend and I were the only people who had reserved a trek for this day. The guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and the people, especially the history. He took us up a small mountain where we could see the beautiful landscape of Oughterard and outlying Connemara hills. Definitely worth the price for what you... More

This is a fantastic place for both learners and riders with some experiences! Roger and the girls are all very patient and friendly. The views are amazing and the track is very safe but perfect for a little running or slow walking. We had a wonderful day there today and will definitely go again sometimes! Highly recommended if anyone is... More

I had a great time riding by myself with an excellent guide and horse. I didn't have proper riding boots, so the whole crew went out of their way to make sure I had appropriate riding gear. Also, since I'm used to western riding, they helped me figure out an english tack setup. The views on the trails were amazing!... More

I've been on a few "hacks" with Knockillaree Riding Centre and have to say they were great. The owner, Roger, was very laid back and nice but hugely knowledgeable and professional - he assessed our riding skills and, as I have riding experience, gave me a horse that suited my skills. My boyfriend, who has only ridden once or twice... More
