Me and my girlfriend Kim had a wonderful time and almost had a private boat to ourselves. The guides were very well informed and good. They could spot birds and animals from far and really knew what they were talking about. We were lucky to see many animals that are usually hiding. The mangrove scenery is just breathtaking. The same... More

This is one of my favourite places in Trinidad, I have been here seven times and each visit is unique and very special! I always go with Nanan's Boat Tours as the price is reasonable and the guides are quite knowledgeable and have a very good eye for spotting wildlife in the thick of the mangrove! http://www.nananecotours.com/ The main attraction... I agree with the other reviewers and can provide a few more thoughts. Very much worth doing! The cost is about $10US and worth it. We had a nearly full boat and left pretty much on time. Late comers were sped down to us periodically and climbed into our boat. This happened three times. No big deal. The late people... More

If you haven't been in a mangrove yet, or don't often go out on boats, this will probably be a great tour for you. The trip is worth it if only for seeing the magnificent scarlet ibis, the national bird of Trinidad, flock towards giant roosts at dusk. An unforgettable sight. Don't expect to see much animal life beyond this,... More

Being on a one day trip from a cruise ship we asked what we could do here. The answer for the 6 of us was take a taxi to Caroni. Se we did. The first great happening was that the taxi drivers were helpful and agreed to leave us for 3 hours and return to take us back to the... More

I've been out twice with Darin and Sean who run the family owned business. They are very knowledgable on the ecosystem and are great at spotting various animals and birds. I have seen an anteater, camin, boa constrictors and many birds. Watching the ibis come in is an event not to be missed. Absolutely wonderful!

We visited Caroni Swamp Bird Sanctuary in March, which is a great time to see the scarlet ibis. The boat trip down the mangrove channels and into the more open part of the swamp is lovely and there are other things to see, such as crabs, oysters, the mangroves themselves, or even boas in a tree. Most of the channels... More

We took the tour ($10US/each) in the afternoon to see the flocks of Scarlet Ibis returning to the trees to sleep for the night. The boat tour in the swap is really nothing special, but it is very relaxing and is interesting if you have never seem mangrove trees before. The time to get to where the Ibis roost was... More

A birder's dream - hundreds of brilliant red ibis nesting in the same area. It was wonderful watching the multiple small flocks returning watch evening to nest. Many other water birds, egrets, herons, dot the shoreline with a backdrop of lush green trees dotted with hundreds of the ibises. Do not miss this.

Make sure you don't pay more than 100 TT dollars. When you pay the guy charges you 50dollars more..refuse to pay it..You leave in the afternoon on boats and enjoy the birds, snakes, crabs and tiny bears..late afternoon you watch thousands of Scarlet Ibis fly in to overnight on an island..A spectacular scene. Worth going and easy to find on... More
