Everything is well done with a wonderful sense of history. It's a terrific experience for children. School groups from Maine used to visit until the passport requirement made that more difficult.

King's Landing is a place where you step into a slower paced time. Stroll the lanes or take a horse-drawn wagon, visit the King's Head Inn for a beverage or a meal. There is a working sawmill, printers shop and smithy and all the houses have 'families' living and working there - planting gardens, harvesting, baking, eating etc. The houses...

You should plan on an all day visit, it takes that much time to get through, especially if you have inquisitive children along! The cafeteria is now closed so the only place to eat is at the Kings...

Historical buildings and demonstrations are very good. This is a very large historical settlement with lots to see and do. Holiday dinners at the inn are not to be missed!

This is the best example of living history that I have seen in the north east. Thier special authentic dining opprtunities around the holidays are not to be missed though a bit pricey. It makes for a romantic evening. This is also an excellent family adventure throughout the summer months.
