The journey up and down the lake was a dread to me. There road condition was bad with too many pot holes on the road. Not suitable for family with young children as the journey was too long. View is great and scenic, I would recommend only if you already visited other parts of Indonesia.

Nice place to visit. Far away from medan town . About 6 hours drive and is tiring. I stay for a night . Should have stay for another day to enjoy the nice scenery. Cruising the lake and shopping around samosir island is relaxing. Must visit if you are in Medan.
