This park has something on offer for everyone, mountains to climb, falls to swim in etc.. There are some long and pictureque hikes you can go on. Trails are very well looked after.

Namadgi National Park is big and diverse. At more than 1000 square kilometres it covers 46% of the ACT. As such it is hard to "rate" it (and some specific parts have their own entry on TA). But if you like outdoors activities it offers a wide variety of interesting things to do, from short walks to picnics, road and/or... More

Namadgi NP is best experienced either in the early morning or dusk in the evening. Why? Because this is when you are going to see all the animal life. Kangaroo, wallabies, wombats, smaller marsupials and birds. Start with a visit to the Namadgi Visitors Centre in Naas Rd, where you can buy a coffee and a map, then check out... More

The visitors centre for the Namadgi National park at Tharwa has great facilities - an interesting display on the area, nice toilets, a picnic area (including bbq's), a nice lounge in airconditioned comfort to watch the nature around you, and a little shop that sells books, calendars, artwork, toys, cold drinks and chocolates (the ranger and volunteers are very friendly... The park and visitors centre is a nice place to visit. It is only a few years since the whole park was destroyed by bushfires. The visitors centre is also quite good. Worth a visit.

Although I trekked through this area with a group of teenagers and it was after a fire, it is still beautiful and a great place to walk!

Need some fresh air and exercise. Namadgi is the place to do it with a fabulous information centre that sets the scene and provides the information you need to walk safely. The weather can change quickly so be prepared. Walk to Rendezvous Hut and sit by teh stream or take a swim in summer.

It is a little way to get there, but the walks are delightful, suitable for kids, in generally well shaded in the trees, with great views from the tops

One could easily spend a whole day in the pristine areas of the Namadgi National Park. There are a wide range of day walks for visitors an hikers. For the less energetic people the visitor's centre has a great circular walk that takes less than 20 minutes to complete and there is great scenery to be seen. As this is... More
