The beach is always busy no matter what time of the year for surfers and sun lovers. Great spot to people watch. Grab fish & chips from The Fish Cafe and eat them on the corso. Get there from Circular Quay on a ferry.

We went on New Years Day - bad mistake ....it was like a seal colony of trippers , hardly any sand to see and very noisy ...better to go on a quieter day !!

This place has everything...hiking the Sydney National Park...overlooking cliffs to the ocean. Watching people surf and play volleyball. Shopping in the little shops; eating great seafood and the best gelatto around.

I took the ferry from circular quay to manly which takes 30 mins. It is a nice cruise passing through the bridge and opera house so you can take good photos. there're many good restaurants around manly beach too. it's a good place to go and enjoy the sea breeze.

Caught the manly ferry from circular quay which is a must - but manly ipad not visited for about 5 years, looked run down and lots of homeless people. Beach was a bit dirty and shops looked run down. I stayed about 2 hours and got back on ferry to Sydney, beach was ok for swim but I did not... More

The Manly beach is great. It is near the shops and cafes and is long and clean. Everything you want from a beach. We were staying in Manly so it was handy but still worth a visit and only a short walk from the ferry.

Noosa and Manly both have something special for me - hard to define - but they both feel more natural than the concrete jungle of Bondi. Still good for swimming, lovely to walk down - a good variety of cafes and restaurants nearby - parking may be the only issue as it is difficult at times to park near where... More

Fortunately I wasn't traveling with my family, but I had walked from the ferry directly to the beach and found a spot, by 1pm, I realized that this prime spot was topless. There is a family friendly spot about a 100 meters down the beach.
