Every year our Sunday School would hire a ferry and take us kids here. it was awesome and still is a good outing. Big plus that you can look out from the beach onto the harbour.

Best place in Sydney for an afternoon picnic, take a bottle of wine some picnic supplies, or get fish and chips on Friday night. Sit up on the hill above the beach, watch the ferries or sailing races and let the sun set in the distance and let the stress of the city disappear. Have a dip in the summer... More

The Shark Beach is a nice place to visit on a warm sunny day. Can swim in the water since enclosed with netting all around the swimming area. There is a kiosk for fast food. Make sure to get a rug to sit on. The main drawback on a warm day is parking and need to do a few rounds... More

Packed the picnic basket and headed for this Park. It was a splendid location for an autumn picnic. A shady tree the ocean sparkling and the sail boats gliding by ... The beach is a short walk from the picnic area. The park has walking tracks and spots the admire the view of Sydney Harbour. Parking can be a problem,... More

Nielsen Park has all the best things about beach, park and food in the one spot. This is not a surf beach, similar to Balmoral over the North, it has a netted area for swimming and the water is mostly calm. It is surrounded by picturesque rocks and its only a short walk across the sand to the water. There... More

With a netted and sandy beach, surrounded by grass and parkland, a wonderful family place for a warm day.

This is a nice little park and beach not far away from CBD. The beach has nice sand and especially in side times it is worth a visit and a swim. Don't come in summer in the middle of the day, would be more than a sardine feeling. There is a restaurant and a kiosk where some basics can be... More

Family friendly, great views of Sydney Harbour and ferries passing by. perfect for family and group picnics. We went for primary school year end and the children had a great time. Parking can sometimes be an issue though.

With a great beach and a shark net this is one of the best places for a swim in Sydney Harbour. Avoid after heavy rains if entering the water.
