This is an intriguing exhibition for the family. Love by my children. I'm a collector and love the organisation of my gains. I envied the miniature pianos and model cars. Hand beaters and the Third Reich I dont grasp. Magestic parts of the old Regent Theatre that I miss were nostalgic. I hope the tractor collector lives on a farm.... More

I had been here once before and quite enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this time it was crawling with people and 4 or 5 of the activities were unavailable. I strongly recommend avoiding Saturdays and Sundays due to the huge number of children. The wait to look at/use/play anything was far too long and my four year old just got really bored.... More

Towards the end of the day and children restless, we arrived at the dinosaur park and instant parental relief as the kids interacted with the displays for an hour or so. Further in the museum there were interesting collections to view and a cafe for a welcome coffee fix. Shop staff were informative and helpful, she knew the names of... More

One of the smaller museums I've seen but more than enough to see and do with the kids and keep them busy. One of our favorite rainy school holiday activities!! Also free entry, parking isn't cheap but it is the CBD so if that's a problem grab the train or bus it drops you off not far up the road... More

Our first impression wasn't very good: our 2-year old walked in with a packet of chippies. We were still by the front door, in a tiled lobby, well away from the exhibitions but this guard came over and said very rudely and patronisingly: "Is she with you? Well, she has to put those chippies away right now because there is... More

Can't believe they don't charge admission! This is a great was to spend a few hours learning more about Queensland. There is a mock-up of a Queenslander house, a display about the minerals found in the state, a large area of taxidermied specimens - not at all dull. There is a thoughtful display about wartime experiences in Gallipoli, Italy in... More

Not a huge place with lots of old stuff but well worth a visit. An insight into some parts of Australian history and some of its animals. Great section on aboriginal tribes and lots of hands on stuff for the kids. Easy to get to, make a day of it and visit south bank.

What a great museum. We go at least three times a year as it is always changing. Kids love it as it is very interactive. Great displays covering a huge field of topics.
