Good visuals but I would have liked a guide to assist...maybe they have them in high tourist season.

I visited on the way back from the brewery, it was about 2pm. I had trouble finding parking and wasnt sure if I could just walk into the grounds. As I walked in I was passed by a tour group of 2 people just starting the tour, I was ignored. I went to the office, there were 2 staff members,...

Very friendly guide, gave a great tour and was very knowledgable. We explored the whole site and heard tragic/fascinating/funny stories of the female factory and the surrounding area. So many stories and great resources from back in the day.
My wife and I have just returned from a week in Tasmania and the tour of the Cascades Female Factory was a highlight. What made it special for us was the insight provided by a tour guide called Michelle. She had researched the history of two of her ancestors who were prisoners there in the 1820's to 1840's. She explained...

We wanted to do Louisa's walk but did not have enough time due to a plane departure on the day. Instead we did the shorter 45 minute 'Her Story'. We were not disappointed. The whole experience was very entertaining but also informative. The two actors who performed 'Her Story' were excellent and as they involved the audience in the story,...

Myself and three friends from Ireland visited Hobart for a weekend and this tour was the highlight of our trip. The tour guide was absolutely fantastic and made the tour very enjoyable. You have to use your immigination as there is not a lot to see initially, but the house at the end has loads to make up for it....

We did the Her Story tour, initially we were a little hesitant to do an acting tour but we found it fascinating. The 2 actors were brilliant and helped form a picture if the ruins.
To get an appreciation of the site a tour is necessary. Shame there is not a lot more than the walls but the history told...

We did both the site tour and Her Story presentation as we didn't realize daylight saving had ended the night before so we were an hour early for the Her Story presentation. Some information doubled up but overall it was worth doing both as we got a fuller picture of the history of the whole factory. None of this history...

This is a big site butthere's really only walls standing apart from the modern interpretation centre. It was a bit of a disapointment that could be made more interesting with further archaeological effort.
Travelled via red bus and had previously booked tour which was excellent. Red bus driver very helpful directing us from female factory (not that interesting to us) to brewery through lovely gardens. Tour director at brewery very informative.....
